Media event: Travmedia’s IMM Lux 2025

EXCLUSIVELY FOR LUXURY PUBLICATIONS 

Most widely known for hosting the largest travel media conference in North America every January in New York, TravMedia is launching a luxury-specific media marketplace in Vegas this year from October 1-2.  IMM LUX will bring together more than 100 international luxury brands with 100 luxury-focused media and content creators, providing the opportunity to meet one-on-one with 22 premier luxury lifestyle media in prescheduled appointments.

We know there was some potential interest in attending New York next year, however, we think this would be a great event to consider if budget allows, especially as they are exclusively targeting the top ultra-high-net-worth writers and editors that Ecoventura is always pursuing.

The registration cost for two delegates to attend both days is USD $4,500 with early bird pricing and spots will be more limited due to the smaller pool of media.

While we’ve submitted the private charter in the past for the coveted ultra-high-net-worth gift guide opportunities, we’ve found that it isn’t competing with the other experiences being published nowadays. Some examples of experiences that are beating us out include a record-setting first-time in history trek to the Arctic and a day trip with the CEO of a major fashion brand on a boat along the coast of Italy. We will absolutely keep trying and throwing our hat into the ring for ongoing consideration, but we know that to truly hands-down secure a spot, Ecoventura would probably need to bring in a major luxury partner, like a private jet charter, a celebrity, or a major designer brand to take the private charter to another level. Alternatively, you could also bring in an outrageous add-on, like limited edition his and hers Rolexes, at your expense that you could build into the cost of the charter sail. These unique, flamboyant ideas, may not be the most commercial but they cut through the steep competition for this very selective and competitive kind of press.

Additionally, another avenue for similar exposure could be Robb Report’s coveted The Vault shopping platform — which is their year-round white glove e-commerce site that sells the most expensive and exclusive items and experiences available for purchase. The items/experiences available in The Vault need to be exclusively bookable through Robb Report and they do take a commission on the sale.

International travel to the United States is a major industry with massive spending power. With the current socio-political climate we are in, loyal international travelers who usually vacation in the U.S. are now boycotting American destinations, leaving their annually allocated vacation budgets up for grabs and opening the door for new destinations that can capitalize.

Some of the most impacted markets are Canada and Mexico, two countries that funnel the majority of U.S. travel and currently either don’t feel safe to visit the U.S. or would prefer to spend their leisure dollars elsewhere. 20.2 million Canadians traveled to the United States in 2024, along with almost 17 million Mexicans.

We think this may be a great potential opportunity to encourage travelers to take that once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Galapagos when their travel plans are up in the air! We’d love to know your thoughts on focusing on these markets and bringing some Canadian or Mexican journalists down for bigger feature pieces or hosting a media event in major Canadian media markets, like Toronto.
